Resources & Tips To Learn How You Can Plan and Prepare for Long-Term Care
The Kitsap Providers Breakfast will have a liberty meal on Tuesday, July 16th, 8:30 to 10:00 am at Cascades of Bremerton, The Willows Dining Room, 3201 Pine Road, Bremerton, WA 98310.
Lisa Marshall at Cascades has invited a special guest speaker with important information for senior care professionals. We will hear from Kaylee Berry-Reich, MSW, LICSW Geriatric Mental Health Professional, Senior Behavioral Health Solutions, PLLC.
See you bright and shining at 8:40 am.
Many thanks to Kathleen McAloon, Jennifer Huntly, Rachelle, Krystal Young, Rebecca and Regina for hosting us for the June meeting at Liberty Place Senior Living in Port Orchard. The food was terrific (including fresh, local eggs from Kathleen). It was a lively, enjoyable morning. Richard Seward, estate planning attorney, presented some very valuable, new insights on a topic that should be familiar to all of us: Powers of Attorney. Although Richard and I have worked together for more than two decades, and I retained him to draft estate documents for my parents I learned a couple of things I hadn’t heard before.
This again demonstrates one of the important values of why we gather every month. The wisdom shared by breakfasters and presenters makes us all better able to serve seniors.
I look forward to gaining more wisdom from you at the next meeting. Your suggestions and comments are always welcome. Bring a friend.
Maddy Carr and Erica Grissmerson of the Washington Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association have invited our help to make the Kitsap Alzheimer's Walk a success. It will take place on September 21 at Silverdale Waterfront Park. This is an opportunity for senior communities to connect their residents with an active, outdoor, fun activity and lend support to research for this debilitating condition. Some of the funds contributed to the Alzheimer's Association are spent to provide free services to individuals, families, care givers and senior communities who are facing the challenge of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.
We will be updating you as we progress.
Please spread the word! West Sound Chorus once again encourages our local seniors to come out and enjoy our contribution to the arts. We invite the residents of local senior living facilities to attend our next show, "Operation: Smile!" on Saturday, July 20. Please have the activity director for the facility contact Danny Faught at [email protected] to arrange for complimentary tickets. Shows are at 2pm and 7pm at Olympic High School in Bremerton, WA.
We are a men’s a cappella chorus that loves to sing and share our music with the community. We sing songs both old and new in close 4-part barbershop harmony. We were formed in 1978 as a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. You can learn more about us at https://westsoundchorus.org/
