September Kitsap Providers Breakfast at Vineyard Park, Bremerton

The Kitsap Providers Breakfast will step gingerly into fall on September 17th,  8:30 to 10:00 am at Vineyard Park of Bremerton, 2707 Clare Ave, Bremerton, WA 98310. This meeting is hosted in cooperation with Bridgeview Care just next door but the breakfast location is at Vineyard Park (Breakfasters love cooperation). Our hosts are Holly Carr, Community Relations Director for Vineyard Park and Karen Winfield, Business Development-Southern Region for Caldera Care.

As you already know, senior care professionals need extra capacities for perseverance and creativity. Holly and Karen have arranged to have Vineyard executive director, Lisa Carlock, give us a refresher on Creative Thinking and Never Giving Up!

Breakfasters , Lori Dreier and Carrie Chavez knocked it out of the park at the August KPB meeting at Wyatt House, 186 Wyatt Way NW Bainbridge Island, WA. CEO Morgan Rohrbach was pleased to show off the newly renovated dining room.

It was a pleasure to listen to the story of Jacob Chymiy of Donate Kitsap or Kitsap Moving. His is a good example of a young person building capacities in a local community by founding a business that also serves seniors. Thanks Jacobs.

I look forward to your story at the next meeting. Your suggestions and comments are always welcome. Bring a friend.

Please, I Would Like Your Opinion

In April of this year, I filmed five pilot episodes for a program that I am producing on the topic of seniors. If you have a few moments, please view episode one and give me your feedback. I will be looking for other experts to interview in their field specialty. As always, I appreciate your support.

 Don’t Forget

The Alzheimer's Walk for Kitsap County is Asking for Our Help

Maddy Carr and Erica Grissmerson of the Washington Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association have invited our help to make the Kitsap Alzheimer's Walk a success. It will take place on September 21 at Silverdale Waterfront Park. It’s not too late to sign up. This is an opportunity for senior communities to connect their residents with an active, outdoor, fun activity and lend support to research for this debilitating condition. Some of the funds contributed to the Alzheimer's Association are spent to provide free services to individuals, families, care givers and senior communities who are facing the challenge of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.

We will be updating you as we progress.

Loads of Fun in September

Summer Send-Off Professional Mixer, Thursday, September 12th, 4:00 – 6:00 pm, Fieldstone on Clear Creek Sky Lounge & Bar. Join Nettie Martini and the crew for networking, cold, refreshing specialty cocktails, drinks and hors d’oevures!

Ingress, a film by Bainbridge Island filmmaker, Rachel Noll is now available on streaming sites. Ingress premiered at the Roxy Theater in Bremerton in March. It is now available on TVOD streaming (Amazon, Vudu, Vimeo on Demand). Maybe our community activities managers could show this film on a movie night?
